Rising Scientists Awards
Every year, 5 high school students who demonstrate exceptional early achievement in psychology, neuroscience, or biomedical engineering research are awarded a $2,000 scholarship for college expenses.
Nominations from teachers of eligible students for the 11th Annual Child Mind Institute Rising Scientist Awards, presented in partnership with Hunter College are now being accepted. Winners will be notified in August. The award is a recognized sign of pre-college student distinction. Past Rising Scientists have gone on to study at highly competitive schools — including Harvard, Yale, Stanford, MIT and Cornell — and have worked in prestigious laboratories at Mt. Sinai, Stony Brook, Weill Cornell Medicine, Memorial Sloan Kettering and Rockefeller University, among others.

We encourage nominations for high school students from groups that have faced historical barriers. We are committed to advancing science that represents all by recognizing and supporting the achievements of those from diverse backgrounds.

Teachers, please nominate the young scientists in your schools. Parents, please share this email with other parents and educators to nominate students and help build the next generation of innovators.
